Trelegy Ellipta Inhaler

The Trelegy Ellipta inhaler contains fluticasone furoate, a corticosteroid, umeclidinium, an anticholinergic, and vilanterol, a long-acting beta(2)-agonist. Fluticasone furoate inhibits pro-inflammatory signaling molecules by activating the steroid response element and prevents lung airway inflammation brought on by exposure to antigens. Umeclidinium inhibits certain receptors in the smooth muscles of the airway, leading to the dilation of bronchi and bronchioles. Vilanterol increases certain messenger levels in our body, which causes the bronchial smooth muscles to relax.

Inform your doctor about any prescribed medications, over-the-counter medicines, nutritional or vitamin supplements, or herbal products you take or have taken before the treatment. Certain medications containing CYP3A4 inhibitors may interact with the Trelegy Ellipta inhaler and cause undesirable side effects.

• Do not store above 30°C.
• Store it away from heat, excessive moisture, and direct sunlight.
• The inhaler has a window that shows the number of doses remaining. This tells you when you are getting low on medicine. The left half of the counter will turn red when there are less than 10 doses left to remind you to refill your prescription.

Your doctor will tell you how much medicine to use. Do not use more than directed. Use this medicine at the same time each day.

• Trelegy Ellipta inhaler is a powder that is used with its own inhaler device. Keep the medicine in the foil tray until you are ready to use the inhaler.
• Each time you open the cover of the inhaler and hear a click, the inhaler is ready to use. Do not close the cover until you have taken your dose. You will lose the dose if you open and close the cover without inhaling the medicine.
• To inhale this medicine, breathe out fully and put the mouthpiece between your lips, and close your lips firmly around it. Take one long, steady, deep breath in through your mouth. Do not breathe in through your nose. Do not block the air vent with your fingers.
• Remove the inhaler from your mouth and hold your breath for about 3 to 4 seconds, then breathe out slowly.
• When you have finished inhaling, rinse your mouth out with water. Do not swallow the water.
• You may clean the mouthpiece using a dry tissue, if needed, before closing the cover.

Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all drugs cause side effects, not everyone gets them.
